Garbage
- Do not throw away garbage in any bag. You need to buy a special bag from the store for Garbage.
- Recycle all glass, metals, and plastic.
- You need to collect your food garbage and throw it into a special food garbage bin. It is a green can that usually
smells really bad. Can't missed it
Alien Registration Card
- Get your alien registration
card as soon as you can. Within the first 2 or 3 weeks. You will not be able to do much in Korea without that card.
- You will be required
to sign document at immigration saying that you have a college degree before you can get your card.
- Also you need to bring
two passport size photos to immigration when you get your card. You can get these at any photo shop in Korea for about 10,000 won.

Banks:
- If your work expects you to do you own bills you pay your bills at the bank.
- Once you get your alien card, open a bank account as soon as you can.
Insurance
- Be sure to ask your employer about your insurance. Do not assume that you are automatically given insurance. Most of the
time you need to ask your employer for the insurance first.
- Your employer is suppose to pay for half your insurance. Make sure that is written into your contract.
Money
- Many teachers find that they do not bring enough money to Korea for the first month. If you do not, do not worry. There
is a KB bank in downtown Jeonju that has global atm machines that allow the use of card with Visa, Plus, and Mastro, along
with other cards. Also KEB has atms where you can use credit cards for Cash.
- Many employers with give you a cash advance if you talk to them about it. They understand that the first month is a very
hard money for foreigners just coming to korea.
